What Are the Common Causes of Hair Loss Versus the Uncommon Causes?

This is an article about the COMMON causes of hair loss. But only the common causes. This is not about the UNCOMMON causes of hair loss or more complicated hair loss problems that could be discussed.

If all the blinders could be lifted from the common and uncommon causes of hair loss, I think the results would be surprising. In fact, I would venture to say that most hair loss problems ARE common, and for good reasons.

What is often blamed on genetics today could easily be caused by more common hair loss problems for women and men than we realize.

That is something that I had to discover on my own when I found myself rapidly losing my hair and panic stricken. I had enough problems already and didn't want to add to my list, being bald!

As I began to search for the causes of hair loss, I got most of the patented answers that blame hair loss on predisposed genetically inherited reasons. Fortunately, I write this article 7 years later after having stopped my hair loss and experienced enough regrowth to feel confident again about how my hair looks.

If you want to read about hair loss reasons that are more involved; go to causes of female hair loss or hair loss reasons . Otherwise, I want to present to you the more common and explainable reasons for hair loss.

What Are the Common Causes Hair Loss?

Hair loss is most common in men, but it can happen to anyone. At one time it was mostly considered to be an issue with age, but over the years there seems to be more and more young men losing their hair.

Unfortunately sometimes it is because of illness. Cancer treatment in particular causes hair to drop out. This is mostly temporary loss and once the treatment finishes, hair grows back but sometimes not as thick.

Stress can hit you hard. One day you just feel a bit under the weather and all of a sudden it escalates and there are symptoms that you were not expecting.

Again this can be a temporary situation but can also be a vicious circle. You lose your hair because you are stressed and then you become more stressed because you have lost your hair. there is no scientific proof that stress causes loss of hair, but stress does indirectly affect the way we take care of our hair.

Cosmetic Reasons for Hair Loss Problems

Modern life also does not help. The pollution in the air means we feel the need to wash our hair more often and this can alter the balance of the hair and lead to hair loss. also, the pollution itself can be problems. If you live in an area or work in a job that has lots of dirt or smog in the air it can clog your pores.

Sometimes follicles can get clogged and the hair finds it harder to come through the scalp and the hair growth is thinner than the ones that are being lost. This means that eventually there will be patches of scalp that does not have hair at all.

Some hair styles will affect hair loss. For example, if you pull the hair back tightly into a pony tail it can fall out.

Using a hair dryer can burn the hair and scalp and some areas may not grow replacement hairs.

But if I were to target the most common cause of hair loss in men or women; it would have to be just a simple lack of nutrition. The problem today is that most people don't realize how inadequate our Western and modern-world food system lacks the proper nutrition.

Because of all the processed foods, chemically enhanced farms and synthetic hair products, your hair doesn't have a fighting chance to survive. Therefore, the best thing you can do for common causes of hair loss is to eliminate all forms of chemicals that you expose your hair to.

That means everything that would affect your hair; to include what you put on it, what you expose your hair to and what you feed your hair (in other words your nutritional intake). If you will download my free hair loss e-book I cover most of these common hair loss problems.
